Code of conduct
We welcome your comments and interactions (referred to below as “posts”) and look forward to a lively dialogue on our social media pages (Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn and X).
We request that you adhere to the following rules. Please note that we reserve the right to delete or report posts that are in breach of these rules without stating the reasons we have done so.
Be respectful and mindful towards others.
Be respectful of others, their views and opinions. Please ensure that your tone is fair and polite at all times. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Remember that you are dealing with real people. Demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior or speech will not be tolerated.
We will delete or report all instances of hate speech and insults related, but not limited to:
gender identity and sex; sexual orientation; race including color, nationality, ethnic or national origin; religion, antisemitism, belief, faith or non-belief; ability, disability or impairment; physical appearance
We will also delete or report all symbols or posts that violate the rights of third parties, particularly with regards to copyright.
Stay on topic.
Please ensure that your comments are relevant to the original post and avoid posts that have nothing or very little to do with the original post. We reserve the right to delete and/or report such posts.This also applies to content that is posted more than once (cross-posting).
No spam.
Posts that take the form of chain letters, junk mail or spam will be deleted. We reserve the right to block and/or report users who disseminate such content.
Refrain from posting in a way that promotes a particular brand or product; that promotes or facilitates illegal activities; that advertises websites or services to sell goods or services, either commercially or as a private individual.
Content, information, software or other material that breaks the law will be deleted and reported.
User responsibility
Users are and remain responsible for their posts. The Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York does not assume any responsibility for users’ posts.
The right of use fundamentally remains with the author of the posts, in as far as those are protected by copyright. By posting on our Instagram Page, authors grant permission to the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York to leave a post permanently on the pages and to archive it. This permission cannot be revoked. The Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York also has the right to delete, edit, move or close topics and posts.
Right to final decision
As the owner of these accounts, we reserve the right to report and delete posts and comments at all times, including without stating the reasons for this, and to report, mute or block their authors.
