Madam President,

Germany aligns with the EU statement.

We appreciate the progress made across all packages and we will continue to support the UN to deliver stronger and better on the mandates.

A few points on Peacebuilding:

First, Peacebuilding Architecture Review and UN80 must go hand in hand.

And effective coordination along the humanitarian-development-peace nexus remains key.

Second, peacebuilding and prevention need to be integrated throughout the entire mission lifecycle. This requires stronger collaboration between peace operations, RC Offices, UN Agencies as well as Funds and Programmes. It also calls for flexible pass-through funding arrangements, particularly during mission transitions. Here Peace and Development Advisers must play a critical role.

Third, closer integration between DPPA and DPO is needed. This includes

pooled capacities, more coherent administrative structures and better aligned voluntary funding mechanisms. As the largest donor to the PBF,

Germany remains committed to strengthening both peace finance and peace impact. UN80 offers a unique opportunity not only to improve efficiency, but also to foster innovation and strengthen partnerships for sustaining peace.

A few remarks on Funding Mechanisms:

In the end, it is on us, the Member States, to ensure that the UN is adequately funded. But we can collectively increase the attractiveness of the UN system, for instance, through more robust accountability and improved contributor visibility.

We therefore must work on our collective Funding Compact commitments.

Three points in this regard.

First: We need improved coordination, joint planning and resourcing. At country level. A more effective UNDS requires better system-wide streamlining in programming and planning with the Cooperation Framework at its core.

Second: Concise and transparent results reporting. Transparency is key for both core and pooled funding mechanisms. This requires high-quality, data-driven analytics.

Third: Shared strategic engagement. Clear steering mechanisms are critical to increase the attractiveness of pooled funds. Strategic donor engagement requires the UN, donors, and host governments to work together and to keep stakeholders engaged throughout the lifecycle of programming.
