The members of the Security Council were briefed by the Secretary-General on the conference which took place in Berlin on 19th January on Libya. The members of the Security Council welcomed the conclusions reached by international leaders at the conference. The members of the Security Council reiterated their support for the Special Representatives of the Secretary-General and for his efforts to bring about a lasting cease-fire and a Libyan-owned, Libyan-led political solution in Libya.
The members of the Security Council urged the Libyan parties to engage constructively in the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in order to conclude a cease-fire agreement as soon as possible. The members of the Security Council will have further discussions in the coming days to follow up on the conclusions of the Berlin conference.
